Help For We The People Is Not Coming

Have you been wondering what has happened to the $700 Billion dollar bailout our legislators said we needed desperately? Have you heard a peep about how the bailout that will cost us about $2500 each is stabilizing our economy? Remember when we had to help the ole big boys and girls or we would collapse like a deck of cards? Well I’ll be! We haven’t collapsed, but the “the friends of the legislators”…the big boys and girls, have successfully gotten a gigantic influx of money into their coffers. Most of our money was a free gift, after all, our legislators wanted to please their masters. Oh, we are not their masters like the Constitution of The United States claims? You know, as I do, that they don’t spend too much time thinking about “we the people”, only their real masters…the ones with all the money! They will certainly never let the big boys and girls down, because to legislators, that would be political suicide.

Our economic problems are certainly horrible, and many Americans have lost substantial sums of money, but we are still trucking along, if maybe with a few misfires. Our free enterprise system will work if our Congress and President will get out of the way. Yes many will lose a lot of money as I have, but let’s all try to snap awake and realize that we may increase our nest egg or quite possibly loss all we have. I had a high school classmate that gambled his complete bankroll in the market, and lost all. He could have sucked it up and started over using better principles of savings! He did not choose the hard way, but stuck a shotgun in his stomach; therefore blowing himself away, leaving a wife and two girls behind. He took the chicken way…sorry, but in my healthy opinion he took a less than courageous path in dealing with his dilemma!

People do lose money in the market as I have done. Companies do lose your pension fund leaving you with little or nothing. No one has a guarantee to profit! You certainly can and sometimes do lose everything, but in our great America, we can actually take a deep breath, and begin building your dreams. Why in the world do you think immigrants come to our shores? All they want is an opportunity! They have, as Martin Luther King, PhD. said in his speech, “A Dream”!

In my healthy opinion, we need to begin holding our legislators accountable and get busy rebuilding our nest egg! What are you and I waiting for…a Government bailout? Sorry, that is just for the ole rich boys and girls!

A Reteaching Of Free Enterprise

As you can gather from my previous posts, I believe the ole saying of ,"What is good for the goose is good for the gander!" Evidently, our Federal Government believes that "we the people" have a certain way we buy, spend, and go broke or become successful. Yes, I know that some of "we the people" do go broke and start again, but our dutiful Washington legislators do not follow this same principle. They are not letting our beautiful economic system work to perfection. They are trying to save every rich and powerful player in our economy, but we do not qualify! Most of us are hardworking Americans doing a great job everyday. If we however; do screw up financially, we are allowed to "bite the dirt" like a tossed bull rider. We get dirty and bloody, but our legislators break their necks to keep moneyed corporations pristine and clean, but if they do take a tumble, they ride in on their horses to the rescue. Hi-Ho Silver!

I realize that most probably think I just don't care about the severity of our credit crunch. Not so! I do appreciate our problems, but I believe the answer is before our nose. Just let our economic system work. We are a capitalist nation and we should continue acting like one. I feel our legislators need a short review of free enterprise, which by the way, we teach in our public schools. If we teach free enterprise is our countries way, then let free enterprise take it's course.

In my healthy opinion, the following is one of the best lessons about free enterprise I have seen. I am including the website for your convience to relearn what should have stuck early in yours and my legislators lives. Remember...Free Enterprise is a major part of our Economy!

Hello! I am going to tell you all that you need to know about free enterprise.
Free enterprise means competition. In this case, competition means competing for customers or markets. Economics are with us wherever we go. In our society today businesses and companies are competing against each other all the time like the picture above. It shows two businesses selling lemonade. If the first person's price of his/her lemonade goes down, the second person's may go down as well. Another form of competition is, when companies target a customer by saying things like, "buy one, get one free."
Businesses try to produce what they think customers will buy at the very highest price possible. Price changes take place all the time. When customers buy more of something, the price will rise. When customers buy less of something, the price lowers. This is called a market economy. A monopoly is when one company will buy all of the other companies in the United States selling the same product as them. Our government does not allow monopolies. Finally, let's play a fun game about what we just learned!

1. What does free enterprise mean?
A. Economics
B. Competition
C. Markets

2. What do producers try to produce?
A. What they think customers will buy
B. Cheap things
C. Expensive things

3. What is one form of competition?
A. Owning a pizza place
B. Selling a shoes
C. Lowering prices

4. What is the meaning of market economy?
A. When a grocery store raises and lowers the prices of milk
B. A convient store
C. A lemonade stand

5. What is a monopoly?
A. A Milton Bradley game
B. When an electronic company buys all of the other electronic companies in the United States
C. A consumer

Congragulations! You have passed the world of free enterprise. I hope that what you have learned from me, Mega Money, today will help you with any future tests or problems that you might ever have concerning free enterprise.
